Privacy Policy

The short version

sngwrtr is a songwriting tool. We built it for songwriters, and we treat your words the way we’d want ours treated. We never train AI models on your lyrics, and we never sell your data. The rest of this page is the detail behind that promise.

What we collect

• Your account. When you sign up, we store your email address and a display name so you can log in and so your work follows you across devices.
• Your writing. The songs, lyrics, notes, seeds, moodboard images and voice memos you create are saved so they sync to your account. They belong to you.
• Your preferences. Settings like your dialect, themes and bucket customizations, so the app behaves the way you set it.
• Basic technical data. Standard request logs needed to run and secure the service.

Google Drive access

If you choose to import a Google Doc, sngwrtr uses Google’s drive.file permission. This is the narrowest Drive scope Google offers: it only lets us read the specific files you personally pick in the Google file picker. We cannot see, list, or touch anything else in your Drive. We use the picked file once, to import its text into your song, and we do not store your Drive contents beyond the song you created from it.

What we never do

• We do not train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model on your lyrics or writing.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or your creative work.
• We do not show your private songs to other users. Collaboration only happens on songs you explicitly share.

Where your data lives

Your account and content are stored with our hosting and database providers (Supabase and Vercel), who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.

AI features

Some optional features (like line suggestions) send the text you choose to send to an AI provider to generate a response for you in that moment. That text is used only to answer your request and is not used to train models. If you never use those features, none of your writing is sent.

Your choices

• You can edit or delete your songs and other content at any time inside the app.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
• You can disconnect Google Drive access at any time from your Google Account permissions.
